Advantage Chrysler Dodge Jeep's top 5

I can't tell you how many people I have talked to that always have the same crazy notions. I'm going to go ahead and list some of the top 5 things I hear folks talk about.

1. I have bad credit, no money down, upside down trade, I want a new $30,000 vehicle and be at payments of $200 a month...... I can't tell you how often I hear this. As a place of business we want to help you buy a vehicle. That's what we do! We sell cars. How would it be in our benefit NOT to sell you a car? However, we need to be a bit more realistic. For someone with good credit, your payments are typically $200 for every $10,000 financed... So lets do our math, without including the bad credit, no money down and a trade-in you owe more then what it is worth... On a $30,000 vehicle you would be looking at roughly a $600 car payment! I've never seen anyone with good to poor credit have a car payment less then $280 a month, and that was because they got a cheap car with money down.

2. I only want to pay $10,000-$13,000 for a vehicle priced at $22,000... I know everyone thinks car dealerships are really making tons and tons off every car we sell. We aren't. Yes, yes I know 6 years ago they probably made a killing each time they sold a vehicle and had it priced way above cost. Now a days though? No sorry this is no longer the case. At our own dealership we probably have about 10-15 vehicles priced below what we paid for them! Then people want to negotiate that price. A typical used car is MAYBE priced $2,000 over what we initially paid for it, not to mention having to pay the service guys and detail guys to check it out and clean it up. Folks, we're a business just like anyone else. We need to be able to afford to pay our employees. Like I said earlier, we sell cars, it's what we do! We want to work with you as much as we can! However, when everything is said and done and no matter how we look at it we're still losing $3,000-$4,000 on a vehicle, that hurts us a lot and we honestly can't afford to give you an even bigger discount. Then you throw us the line "soandso has the same vehicle for less, come down on the price!"... If they really had it for so much less why aren't you over there buying it? We'll be the first ones to tell you if you can get a $22,000 vehicle for $13,000 don't miss out on that deal!

3. I'm not going to pay that dealer fee!!!! Look at the above paragraph. We're hardly making any money as is. Not to mention by law if we've ever charged one person, we have to charge everyone. We can't just make exceptions. Yes we understand there are dealerships out there who don't charge dealer fees. We just aren't in that category. If you refuse to pay it, then there isn't much we can do. Even employees have to pay that fee.

4. Soandso had a set price I like them so much! Why won't you negotiate with me on price?!.... Hold on... Did we just contradict ourselves? Yea we'll leave that at that.

5. I found a similar vehicle for $1000 less!.... If we tell you we can't come down any further, we honestly do mean it. We sell cars! We're not happy when we don't sell cars! So trust me when I say we WANT to work with you, but there are times where our hands are tied. Sometimes, to get what you really want even if it's just a matter of a different color you have to be willing to pay a little more. If the vehicle wasn't worth it, you wouldn't have asked about it right? I'd like to believe most if not all of our customers are rather sharp and smart individuals. If you like a color better, but it's priced higher you have a choice. Settle for something you don't love, or pay a little extra and get what you do love.

Now this article isn't meant to be offensive or mean. It's meant to open our eyes and hopefully educate anyone who reads this on what to realistically expect and accept. We understand many places have misleading advertisements which is what leads to all this confusion in the first place, but everyone is trying to stay competitive. Don't look at us as evil green-eye'd monsters. Try to understand we have families just like everyone else and are trying to get by on a honest and humble earning.

Advantage Chrysler Dodge Jeep Orlando and Mount Dora

Thinking today, it got us wondering. What is a long drive now a days? When Advantage Chrysler Dodge Jeep first opened in Mount Dora, anything over 15 minutes was considered a long haul. Now, most people drive at least 30-40 minutes to work and then back again. Sometimes it's along drive, time wise due to multiple stoplights, other times it's purely distance. To get from downtown Orlando, FL to Advantage Chrysler Dodge Jeep WITH OUT taking the tolls, it's roughly a 45 minute drive. However, it's still about 30-35 miles north. With gas prices on the rise, and jobs becoming harder to find, what's a long commute for you? If you have to spend 30 minutes driving to the other side of Orlando because HWY 50 is backed up with traffic, why not drive the extra 15 minutes and get the best deals in the Orlando area! We have tons of cars for sale, but very much believe in finding the perfect car for you. We will search a 300 mile perimeter for you, to find the car you want. Not only that though, we still offer a great deal on it! Perhaps we're biased a little haha, but honestly we think we're some of the more honest and upfront dealerships in the Orlando area. So go on over to our website at www.advantagechryslerdodge.com and see if we have something you might like.

Advantage Chrysler Dodge Jeep - Cars for Sale Part I

Hundreds of people purchase a vehicle every day. It may be a new chrysler, dodge or jeep; or perhaps something pre-owned. A buying decision can be very difficult, you don't know if you should go with new or something older. Well at Advantage Chrysler Dode and Jeep we want all of our customers to know how what to expect. So we've written out a small pro's and con's list for either which way you decide.

Pro New cars for sale :
  • Full Factory Warranty, so if something does go wrong it'll probably be covered!
  • New car smell, ok well maybe this isn't really a "pro" but we love that fresh clean new car smell!
  • Latest technology, a lot of times newer models have better technology, better horsepower and often better gas mileage which really pays at the pump now a days.
  • Rebates usually available, some new dodge chrysler and jeep products even have rebates available up to $4,000-5,000. Depending on the time of year, make and model you can save a lot!
  • Lease options available, if you don't plan on keeping the vehicle longer then 3years a lease can be a great option as the payments are usually a lot less then when you finance!
  • Special financing usually available, if anything you will always get a better interest rate on a new car then a pre-owned vehicle.
  • Little to no down payment acceptable, for new cars you usually don't have to put down as much money as you would a pre-owned car.
  • You can trade in a vehicle with negative equity, if you're a little upside down in your trade then go new. A new cars rebates can help hide the negative equity and get your loan approved for a decent payment.
  • Best deals on new cars, car dealerships literally give new cars away.Between rebates and competitive pricing online, you will end up paying less then invoice on a new car.

Con New cars for sale :
  • Breaking in the engine, when a vehicle is brand new it receives horrible gas mileage for the first few thousand miles until the engine is broken in. This can sometimes be a downfall if you desperately need fuel efficiency NOW.
  • More money, no matter how good of a deal you get on a new vehicle you will always pay more for it to be new rather then pre-owned. However, on some models the difference is just a mere $20-40 in payment.
  • If you lease, you may have to have high coverage on the vehicle 100k/300k/100k typically. Having high coverage means high insurance payments.
  • Maintenance, if you purchase new no one else would have already paid for those 10k, 15k, etc mileage maintenance. These can cost a pretty penny too.
  • On average a $5,000 decrease in value after the first few hundred miles. Prices reduce on all vehicles, however new vehicles fall victim to a slightly harsher drop after their first owner.
Part II coming soon! This will talk all about the pros and cons of purchasing a pre-owned vehicle.
